| The Curamik laser diode cooler is composed of several layers of high purity copper foil into which different fine structures are etched. With such layers, three-dimensional structures are assembled for cooling of high power laser diodes. The designs of individual layers may be adapted according to customer specifications. |

Individual layers are joined by means of the proprietary Curamik bonding process. The key advantage of that process resides in the fact that no other material is added to attach the layers together, which would negatively influence thermal resistance of the cooler.
The top surface and the front edge of the cooler may be diamond milled, to achieve optimum planarity and precision for attachment of the laser diode.
Curamik laser diode coolers are used for high-performance laser diodes at 20 - 100 W. Such coolers are used in both closed and open-frame assemblies (laser diode stacks) for diode-pumped Nd: YAG lasers or diode lasers in industrial and medical applications.
